
Beach Babies Team Member Insurance Benefits
At Beach Babies, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being of our team members. As part of that commitment, we offer a robust benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees through CalChoice. These benefits are designed to provide peace of mind and access to high-quality care—for both you and your family. Whether you're just starting your journey with us or have been part of the Beach Babies family for years, we want to ensure you're cared for every step of the way.
Employer Contribution
Beach Babies contributes a percentage of your monthly medical and dental premiums based on your length of continuous full-time service. These contributions apply to the base plan offered through CalChoice. The contribution increases as you continue your employment with us:

After 2 months of full-time service and up to 3 years: Beach Babies covers 50% of the monthly premium.

After 3 years and up to 5 years: Beach Babies covers 75% of the monthly premium.

After 5 years of continuous full-time service: Beach Babies covers 100% of the monthly premium.
This contribution applies to the base plan. However, if you require a richer plan to better meet your healthcare needs, you may select from other options available through CalChoice. The difference in premiums for these upgraded plans will be at your own expense.

Plan Rates
To help you make the best decision for you and your family, we’ve provided a detailed breakdown of the current monthly premium rates for all available plans through CalChoice. This includes base plan rates as well as upgrade options for richer coverage.

Rates vary depending on your selected plan, coverage tier (employee only, employee + spouse, employee + children, or family), and whether you choose to upgrade beyond the base plan.

Beach Babies contributes toward the monthly cost of your base plan based on your length of continuous full-time service (see “Employer Contribution” section above).

If you choose a plan with higher premiums than the base plan, you are responsible for the difference.

Payroll Deduction: The amount you owe—your total monthly premium minus Beach Babies’ contribution—is split evenly and deducted from your paychecks twice per month.

Enrollment & Open Enrollment
Initial Enrollment for New Hires
New full-time team members become eligible for health, dental, and vision benefits after completing 60 days of continuous full-time employment. To begin the enrollment process:

Complete the Enrollment Application: Download and fill out the Enrollment Application Form.

Submit Your Application: Email your completed application to hr@beachbabies.com no later than your 60th day of employment.
Failure to submit the application within this timeframe may result in a delay in coverage until the next Open Enrollment period.
Annual Open Enrollment
Each year, Beach Babies holds an Open Enrollment period in May and June. This is your opportunity to:

Enroll in or waive coverage

Make changes to your existing health, dental, or vision plans

Add or remove dependents

Switch to a richer or different plan
Any changes made during Open Enrollment will go into effect on July 1st.
Mid-Year Changes
Outside of the Open Enrollment window, changes to your benefits may only be made if you experience a qualifying life event, such as:

Marriage or divorce

Birth or adoption of a child

Loss of other coverage

Change in employment status
To request a mid-year change, complete the Change Request Form and email it to hr@beachbabies.com along with documentation supporting your qualifying event.
